Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me. :la:
Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang. :D
The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Only the winners in each breed are listed in the results, for all breeds. Since Heather's dog is BOB, she is also Winner's Bitch, so Aya's dog isn't listed.

But it SHOULD be listed. There were 6 Australian Shepherd Puppies, yet each one of them got placed within the breed round, either as BOB, BOS or 2nd in Breed, 3rd in Breed, ect. It doesn't matter if the other Doberman won BOB and Winners Bitch, Aya's Doberman SHOULD have been placed 2nd in Breed.

It looks like there are only a few breeds that were fully listed out, so... idk what she's doing / whoever did the judging. For example I had two adult male Italian Greyhounds but only the BOB is listed. Dobermans aren't the only ones.
